The Drew
Model School in Arlington Virginia will be having a fundraiser on
Friday April
20, 2012
Drew Model
Elementary School has started a pilot Ladies and Gentlemen's Etiquette Club,
called Lovely Ladies and Jazzy Gents. We will be hosting a Hand Dance/Swing
Dance and Art Sale on Friday, April 20, 2012 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
They are
looking for artists who would be willing to donate some of their artwork that
would be sold. Proceeds from the sale will go to the etiquette club.
Admission
is on a "Donation Basis" and any art is priced to sell. All
proceeds will go to the Club's etiquette program. The Ladies and
Gentlemen will be performing and teaching the audience their latest
moves!!! There will also be a little display/presentation of the work
they have been doing.
A little
more about the Ladies and Gentlemen's Club:
It helps
the kids to build their self-confidence and awareness.
The Club
incorporates curriculum/academics and ties them to the activities in the club.
There is
dancing. The dancing is a great way to help them with geometric shapes and
fractions, something they need for their SOLs.
The
etiquette lessons are connected to Language Arts SOLs. It is the goal for them
to improve in public presentations, writing, and reading skills.
Deadline
to participate: April 19th
