Mead Theatre Lab at Flashpoint
916 G Street, NW Washington DC 20001

Feeling tangled in the web of social media outlets? We can help. Join Sydney Skybetter at Flashpoint to learn how to navigate the world of social media and capitalize on the latest online marketing trends. Learn effective strategies for creating a virtual persona for your organization, how to tell a compelling story (in 140 characters or less!) and prioritize an ever-growing list of social media channels.

Sydney Skybetter—technologist, choreographer and Founding Partner of Edwards & Skybetter Change Agency—will lead a brown bag lunch and casual conversation around how arts organizations can get the most out of social media.  Whether you’re thinking about social media to sell tickets, solicit donations or generate buzz, we hope you’ll join us to get professional advice from a social media guru and fellow arts administrator. (A second chance to hear Sydney speak if you missed him at Dance Exchange a few weeks ago!)
You will learn how to:

o Set realistic goals for your team around social media & measure the return on investment

o Weigh the benefits & drawbacks of today’s biggest social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, gPlus, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc., and identify the channels best-suited to your organization

o Choose the appropriate channels and determine when to tweet, blog or tag and how to tailor the content appropriately

Fee:  $10.00; this is BYO-lunch
